I must admit that our Prime Minister is full of surprises. He was not my choice to lead our nation several years ago, but oh my – he has really impressed me and many others as well. He has really succeeded beyond reasonable doubt in proving that he is the man for the job and hopefully Malaysians will give him their stamp of approval in the next general election.
As a Malaysian, I only want the best for our beloved country and I think with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the helm, we certainly have the best man for the job at the moment. He may not be the ‘Anugerah Tuhan’ but he certainly worked hard and has shown his love and dedication for this country. That is, in my humble opinion.
At the moment, nobody knows when the next general election is going to be. Nobody except the great man himself! The Prime Minister is keeping the cards close to his chest and left not a single clue as to when he will seek a new mandate. Well, he is entitled to do that according to the Constitution.
In fact, the highly respected professor of law, Prof. Shad Saleem Faruqi suggested that a government that allows the elected assembly to live out its full five years must be commended and not condemned. Maybe we should amend the constitution to make it fixed. Then again, an unstable government with a simple majority could be difficult to work with. The Prime Minister might need to seek a fresh mandate after two or three years to rectify the situation. Hmm.. Tough call on this one!
One thing that I love about our Prime Minister : he doesn’t meddle in politics too much. OK, he did throw punches here and there but that’s it. Well, who doesn’t? Throughout his four years in office, I’ve seen a very dedicated Prime Minister, who constantly work hard and give his best for the nation. Like I said, he surprises me. Many times indeed!
On top of that, our economy and growth has been sufficiently improved – these were achieved despite attempts by many quarters to demonize him and create instability in this country. So, congratulations to Dato’ Sri – you have done really well.
As for those who are about to vote, I’m not going to tell who you should vote. That is what we practice in this country – democracy and freedom of expression. I know many of you have your very own opinion and there is little that I can do to change you. So, enjoy the election party when it comes. Exercise your right as a citizen and happy voting to all Malaysians!
