Lately, I read fewer stories on politics and concentrate on other things that I enjoy more. However, I have many friends that are involved in politics and help me keep abreast with what’s happening in the country especially with the 13th GE ‘just around the corner’ (how many times have this phrase been repeated?). Some even asked my opinion about certain issues like the RCI and Kalimah Allah.
Last week, one of them asked me this question: “Bro, what do you think about the Kalimah Allah issue? It’s getting out of control now. The Christians and Muslims are exchanging some hatred words over the internet these days”. Hmm… I didn’t know it has become that bad!
Well, let us examine the issue for a while. I think many political observers will point their fingers to one ‘cocky’ leader in Penang for sparking all these hu ha.. He probably thinks that he can get extra votes, especially in Sabah and Sarawak during the coming GE by raising the issue. Plus, he might also feel that he can divert the people’s attention from his party’s shenanigan election. So he decided to say this:
A people-centric government can also bring peace and prosperity based on the principles of truth, freedom, justice, democracy and integrity. For this reason, DAP urges the BN federal government to allow the use of the word Allah in the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Bible as has been allowed in Sabah and Sarawak for the last 50 years and practiced in the Middle East for more than a thousand years. For that statement, the ‘cocky’ leader got this (plus many more of this, just ‘google’ the internet la..) :
Hmm.. Suddenly I feel a bit ‘déjà vu’ when looking at the above photo. Does anyone recall this photo? (below)
What goes around comes around right? Doesn’t matter whether his statement is correct or not, when you decide to play with fire, you know that you might get burnt.
