KOTA KINABALU: A fire destroyed the houses of ten families at a squatter area in Kampung Lokub, Sepanggar, near here yesterday rendering them homeless. The 2 pm incident saw 10 wooden houses destroyed in a fire which spread quickly as the house were built close to one another – The Borneo Post, 14th February 2013 @ page A6.
I was actually on my way home when I noticed the thick smoke rising out of somewhere near home. I was deeply concerned and immediately cancelled my intention to stop by the grocery store and drove home. I was relieved that it was nowhere near, I was merely deceived by the wind that drove the smoke. (more…)
