Malaysians love football. It is a FACT, despite the rank of our national football at a lowly 163. That is just above Indonesia and Singapore but below Palestine, Thailand, Aruba, Curacao, Philippines and Vietnam. And if you wonder how much we love football, just check out the attendance at National Stadium at Bukit Jalil during the AFF Suzuki Cup. See the above photo. It’s a full house in a 100,000 capacity stadium. Many more are sitting in front of the TVs all over the country cheering for ‘Harimau Malaya’.  Imagine if we were playing in the World Cup, our government might declare a public holiday throughout the World Cup weeks (not possible) or subsidise our fare to the host country.:D (more…)
