Homeschooling is gaining momentum in the United States. It is estimated that there are approximately 2 million homeschooled children in the US (2008 – 2009 data) and almost 74% of homeschooled children have gone to colleges as compared to 44% of general population. American voters have also shown a significant change in attitude in the last twenty years, from 73% opposed to home education in 1985 to 54% opposed in 2001.
And the parents of homeschooled kids are happy to share their experiences, tips and even the lessons. One such blogger is Joy, the wife of Jeff and mom to Jaden, Jerah, and Joely at her website – Five J’s.
She shares lessons, printables, teaching tips and tools, etc. When she wanted to teach her daughter the recorder, she made her own recorder finger chart and shared it online.
