At the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu, on the Mesilau Plateau, lies the Desa Dairy Farm, home to the Friesien cattles that produce the local Desa Dairy products. It is an interesting place to visit because of the stark contrast in features when compared to the lowlands and towns of Sabah. It is also a great place for kids and adults to see themselves how the local fresh milk is prepared.
To reach the Desa Dairy Farm in Kundasang, Ranau, you need to take the Kota Kinabalu – Tuaran road, and when you reach Telipok, be prepared to turn to the Tamparuli junction. Thereafter, it will mostly be an uphill drive on a mostly winding road. After about 1-2 hours of driving, you would be greeted by the cool breeze of Kundasang.
