ServerFreak Hosting Renew

I received an email from ServerFreak hosting the other day. It’s a friendly reminder from the web hosting company that my subscription is about to expire soon. A few hundred ringgit must be prepared for the renewal or else bye bye blogging and all my blogs hosted in their server will cease to exist. That includes this blog, DuluLainSekarangLain.Com (‘DLSL’).

ServerFreak Web Hosting

For the record, I have been using ServerFreak’s hosting service for six years now. That is my longest relationship with any web hosting company either local or international. Hence, it is a huge testimonial for this company, that I, as one of their clients am very happy with their services and choose to continue to stick with them for quite some time. Their customer service is tip top, server downtime is very low and everything else are great. On top of that, their rate is affordable.

In case, you haven’t heard of them before, here’s the link:

Check it out yourself and see if you are interested to create a blog or website on their server. There’s a wide range of options for you to choose from either for personal satisfaction or commercial purposes.

For comparison purposes, you could also read my old post: Recommended Malaysia Web Hosting Companies. It is an old post but still useful as a reference.

Those who regularly visit this blog would notice that I haven’t been actively writing over the past few years. Yet, I still maintain DLSL till today. Well, it is a self-sustaining blog. At least, generating enough to pay for its bills. No need for me to finance its cost. I would love to keep it for many years to come.

In fact, I’m already instigating my kids to write and who knows, maybe one day they could take over this blog. wink

The Benefits of Blogging

For me, writing is a good hobby. It helps me to clarify my understanding on certain matters. For example, if I can’t complete an article on Employment Act. It shows that I actually don’t understand the topic/issue on that matter. I will need to do further readings and study until I can finish the article. A good understanding of the topic helps me in my day-to-day job as well. Hence, such article is relevant to my job.

Secondly, I find that writing helps me to clear my mind. Everyday, whether at work or home, I will encounter certain issues or problems that stuck in my head like forever and makes it difficult for me to sleep at night. Yes, it’s true. One way to let it go is to talk with people that are close to you like your wife or close friends. The other way is to be creative by adjusting the details and write a story or an article or write about something else which makes you feel relaxed and happy about it like what I’m doing now. If you are publishing in blogs and social media, please be mindful and ensure that you have adjusted accordingly so that whatever you write does not offend anyone. Nonetheless, the point is you can be relaxed and your mind can be clear just by writing.

The third benefit that I find in writing is that it can help train you to bring back old and almost forgotten memories. Sort of like memory training. Keep your brain active and search for old info that are useful for today’s use. Almost the same as the first reason but here it is more about getting into the details while the previous one is more on the processing side.

Other than that, I do hope that my writing helps to contribute something to the society and helps many people in their life. That’s why I tried hard to post educational stuff rather than trending stuff like many other bloggers. To be frank, I don’t think I’m a very knowledgeable person but I do pick up a few things in life that I believe may benefit others if I share. I really hope that readers will also find this useful.

Last but not least, blogs can generate an income for you. Maybe not enough to quit your job but good enough to help pay certain bills or entertainment expenses like going to movies or karaoke. But, please try to do it as responsibly as possible. If you enroll in Pay-Per-Click (PPC) program like Adsense, please pick a suitable one that does not irate you readers. I’m talking about pop up ads that are difficult to close and force you to click on the ads or inappropriate content ads. If you are into affiliate program please write according to your knowledge. Do not over sell or ‘terlajak promote‘ to your readers. Best if you have tried the product first, otherwise stick to what you know and just let the readers visit the sale page himself and make their decision there.

So if you haven’t blogged before, I suggest you start a blog. Not necessarily using paid hosting like mine. But for a long term project, you will find that paid hosting is the best for this purpose. If you want to try out ServerFreak, look for their starter plan. Slowly, when you feel comfortable blogging and the blog is generating a steady income, upgrade to a more powerful hosting plan.

I’m currently using a PRO hosting plan. Visit SERVERFREAK WEB HOSTING and see how much I have to pay annually. Not a big issue if your blog can pay for itself, right? Some of you could do better than me and generate more income to the extent that you don’t have to work for other people anymore. You can be your own boss. I haven’t reached that level yet… but who knows in the future?

Last but not least.. ServerFreak rocks! I hope you enjoy your holiday break.

Happy Deepavali. Vanekam!
