Blogging can be very tedious sometimes. Apart from writing new contents, there are many other things to look out for. Although it has evolved and is very automated these days, there are still many things that you need to do manually. Nonetheless, it is still far better than in my early years, whereby there’s no WordPress around and I had to do a lot of coding on html and upload via Ftp server. Oh gosh, that was a hassle. I still can’t believe I did that last time on a very slow internet line. I guess I was persistent.
I would like to say thanks to everyone that comes and visits our blog and leaves comments. We appreciate that very much. We are sorry if we didn’t reply to your comments as often as we would like but I think those who have a blog would understand better.
Producing new content is not always easy even though you love writing. A writer can always have a mental block from time to time, especially if you are occupied with other matters, normally work and family matters. Furthermore, if you’re writing an informative or academic article, you need to take time doing research and ensure that the contents are correct and come from a reliable source. Sometimes, it feels like writing an assignment for your lecturer.
Like a house or an office, you need to do maintenance on your blog. You need to update WordPress (if you are using it) and its plugins from time to time. The updates are important to provide better security for your blog and ensure the plugins used are compatible and doesn’t cause any problem. You also need to update the contents to make the information up to date.
Being part time bloggers also mean that in real life we are just ordinary people with many other commitments too. Therefore, we need to draw the line in terms of priority and this blog has a slightly lower rank in terms of priority. Well, how could a blog rank higher than family and work, right?😉 Accordingly, from time to time you will find zero activity on the blog like it has been abandoned by us. Basically that means all higher ranking priorities are seeking more attention from us and we just have to forget this blog for the time being. Fingers crossed, we will always be back.
I hope you find this article useful, especially to those who are about to blog.
