For years, I have been blessed with a clear, almost trouble-free skin. But reaching 40 immediately accelerates the aging process (urgh!), and brings to light bigger pores, uneven skin tone and dark spots almost immediately. I definitely need help from skincare – but from which brand? Obviously, I can’t try them all. 1 bottle of skincare could last at least 6 months and could cost hundreds.
What if it doesn’t suit my skincare needs?
I can’t just get a new one and waste an expensive skincare.
Not my style! 😀
Thank heavens for samples! Samples let us test and decide whether a particular brand suits our needs and our aims. In my younger days, I once bought a whole regiment of skincare only to discover that it caused breakouts, dry flaky skin and itchiness.
From then on, I never buy any skincare product above RM80 without trying it out first.
However, recipients of free samples must realise that samples are not mere gifts nor are they marketing ploys. They are an opportunity to experience a product without committing to purchasing it, usually without spending a dime. Consequently, accepting a sample is a responsibility owed towards the giver, and most importantly, towards oneself.
Accepting and trying out a sample requires a sense of adventure, courage to try new things and a sense of honesty in admitting the truth – whether the product suits you and whether it’s worth buying.
This March I have been lucky to have come across offers for samples of 3 whitening products which I hope could help me with my uneven skin tone and dark spots:
- L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Transparent Rosy Whitening Moisturising Night Cream
- Clarins White Plus containing Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent Brightening Hydrating Emulsion, Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent Smoothing Brightening Night Cream, UV Plus Day Screen High Protection SPF 40 and a Beauty Treat Card;
- L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening products containing 3 sachets of Brightening Essence, Eye Care & Mask Duo Brightening Correction, Brightening Shield and Sunscreen SPF 40 and a RM20 Voucher.
For those who are interested to get the above samples, just buy Cleo (Malaysia) March 2014 and you’ll immediately get L’Oreal’s White Perfect Night Cream. Then, cut out the Clarins coupon on page 71 and head out to the nearest Clarins counter for the Clarins White Plus samples.
I was really delighted to find that there were still more than a few samples available at Metrojaya’s Clarins counter in Suria Sabah.
As for L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening products samples, just visit L’Occitane Facebook page and follow the instructions to redeem your Immortelle samples. Better do it fast as most offer ends by the end of the month or while stock lasts.
But first, make sure there’s a L’Occitane store nearby as I understand from the FB comments that there are no L’Occitane store in some states, e.g. in Sarawak.
