Just look at the facebook page and you’ll see all the wonderful offerings.
A Bag of Love costs RM39.90 + RM8 for East Malaysia and it is a bi-monthly subscription.
Bag of Love
When my BOL came, I was delightfully surprised because I was not really expecting it on that week – thought it was going to arrive the week after. Unlike other beauty subscriptions which are presented to us in a box (hence the name Beauty Box), Bag of Love always send our beauty samples/products in a bag, usually tote bags.
This time it’s a book bag or a pouch big enough for books – perfect for bibliophile beauties – with 8 beauty products and 2 special vouchers.
I feel very lucky indeed because it’s more than the usual 5 products in previous bags.
And the bag was with me at the recent Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Walk. Can you spot the BOL?
Inside The Bag of Love
Inside my Bag of Love were a hair conditioner, a face mask, a body wash, pimple solution, a facial spray, BB cream, facial serum and moisturiser.
Dove Hair Therapy Damage Solutions Intense Repair Conditioner was the biggest item in the bag. It’s not only huge, but it also has a very strong sweet scent. In fact, that was the scent that greeted me upon unzipping the bag.
I wished the shampoo was included. 😀
I really hope it’s okay if I use it with other brand of shampoo.
A 180ml bottle retails at RM9.90.
Next is the Mask of Love.
The mask is a result of the collaboration between Mi Mi from Bag of Love (BOL) and Unico.
It is a Soothing and Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Mask with key ingredients such as Phyto H.A (a plant derived alternative to Hyaluronic Acid which has excellent moisturising property), Cactus (a powerful antioxidant), Honey (antibacterial and soothing) and Lavender (calming).
Doesn’t that sound like walking through a wonderful garden?
Bio-cellulose masks are made of fermented plant fibres which adheres closely to the face and has superior ability to penetrate ingredients into the skin. It is also widely used in medical bandage owing to its cool down effect and excellent function on dressing change to wound. Each Mask of Love is RM19.90.
I’m definitely saving this for a special day.
I have never used any Calvin Klein’s product before,so I was excited to see a travel size CK One Red Edition for Her Body Wash (30 ml) in my Bag of Love.
It is said to smell fruity floral with juicy watermelon (top note), invigorating florals (mid note) and velvety musks (base note). I tried it out on my arms and after 10 minutes I am happy to find my skin feeling smooth and refreshingly cool – not dry or tight at all.
It’s sweet floral scent is barely discernible – just as a like it! 😀
A 200ml retails at RM75.
Although I already have Miacare Acne Patch from my Modbox beauty box, I don’t mind having more as I’m certain it’ll come in handy in the near future for somebody I know – most probably my kids. Miacare Acne Patch (3 patches) absorbs all the icky pus for lightning-quick healing.
It’s ultra-thin and highly invisible patch can be applied under our makeup without anyone noticing – great for hiding the pimple or other skin blemishes.
RM9.50 for 12 patches.
Uber-Men Hydrating Mist will definitely go to one of the men in my life – I’m just not sure yet which one. Since it is said to sooth and restore skin’s moisture balance, so I guess it’s good for those who spends a long time in dry, air-conditioned room. It freshens the skin without the need to moisturise. Very convenient. A 50ml bottle costs RM16.90.
Covo HD Picturesque BB Cream SPF50 PA++was the tiniest item in the BOL and I found it a bit hard to squeeze out the cream from the tube as there wasn’t much in it – could it have evaporated somehow?
Still, I used up whatever I could get during the recent Pink Ribbon Walk last Sunday as it is said to be packed with 12 Benefits in 1:
- HD – Light diffusing capability for flawless finish
- SPF50 PA+++ – Protect against UVA & UVB
- Enriched with Vitamin E – Revitalizes skin
- Sebum Control – Minimizes oil, blemish control
- Skin Brightening – Reduces spots & prevent skin from darkening
- Reduce Visible Pores
- Minimizes Appearance of Fine Lines
- Moisturizes and Hydrates
- Light and Fresh Finishing
- Non-Comedogenic – Do not clog pores
- Reduce Redness & Calm Sensitive Skin
- Long Wearing
So, how was it? I can testify that sweat did not melt this BB cream from my face. But I was a bit uncomfortable with its thickness. I feel like I was wearing foundation twice. But I didn’t test it’s UV protection abilities as I didn’t stand under the sun for long – I was not willing to risk getting migraines and sunburn.
This powerful Covo HD Picturesque BB Cream retails at RM89 for 30ml.
Now, my 2 most favourite things from this edition of BOL are Human Nature Overnight Elixir and Philosophy Hope in A Jar Moisturizer.
Let’s start with Human Nature Overnight Elixir, a vial. Retails at RM129.90 for 30ml. Only massage 4 drops on to cleansed skin every night and it promises that you will wake up to visibly and radiantly softer and more luminous skin even on the very first morning after use.
It is said to contain 9 luxurious, pure botanical oils, including elemi oil (used by the prestigious Chanel and Dior), lavender oil and rosehip oil – nature’s finest oils that will moisturise, sooth and clear your skin for that enviable complexion.
Smells absolutely divine and has an amazing list of fantastic natural ingredients:
Caprylic/capric triglyceride (coconut-derived), Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Rosa canina (rosehip) oil, Passiflora edulis (passion fruit) oil, Glycine soja (soybean) oil, diheptyl succinate, capryloyl glycerin/sebacic acid copolymer, Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, olus (vegetable) oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), fragrance (rose-derived), glyceryl caprylate (coconut, palm and glycerin-derived), Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) essential oil, farnesol, linalool, Canarium luzonicum (elemi) essential oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) essential oil
Maybe I’m biologically tuned to it – I do love natural or organic fragrance even though to some people it may smell strange. Originating from our neighbouring country, the Philippines, Human Nature products ingredients are at least 95% natural and they go to great lengths to ensure that their natural ingredients are not contaminated with chemicals.
I follow the Skin Pampering Method suggested by Human Nature in their FB page:
Human Nature conducts no animal testing and they are pro-poor, pro-environment, and pro-Philippines. Each product sold helps the poor and homeless in the Philippines, directly and sustainably.
After I applied the Elixir, I waited about 20 minutes to allow my skin to absorb its goodness before I apply moisturiser.
At the moment, I use Philosophy Hope in A Jar Moisturizer, also found in my BOL.
Philosophy Hope in A Jar Moisturizer is one of Oprah’s favourite things, which is also loved by many. And I got a 7ml sample of it in my BOL. Suitable for normal to oily skin, it is a 99% oil-free moisturizer designed to smooth the complexion while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and discolouration.
Formulated without sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan, it contains antioxidants that protect skin against environmental damage and provides continuous exfoliation. 60ml costs RM140.
After 3 usages, I think my skin is feeling happier because I can see that it’s not as dull and sallow as before. I don’t wake up to oily skin in the morning and even after a workout, my face doesn’t feel quite as sticky as before. I am very happy with my BOL and am seriously thinking of getting the next edition which will be sent out next month .
Do visit their FB Page for more info and teasers.
I hope the next BOL will feature a glorious eye-cream… 😀
