Human Nature’s Natural Skincare – My Basic Skincare Routine

human nature

Finding skincare products that satisfy the heart, mind and skin is not easy.  Ask any woman – that’s why we love samples, to avoid feeling cheated when the products do not work, OR WORSE, has adverse effects!

In my previous posts in this blog and also in another blog I have written about my experience and purchases of Human Nature products and promised that I would share my findings – after all, sharing is caring. 😀

It has been months now and some of the items are due for replacement, so let me say that, basically, I’m now a loyal consumer of Human Nature’s natural skincare items.

Not only do I love the products’ ingredients, but the price are also really, really affordable! 😀

thumbs up

Although I was already a passionate use of Human Nature’s Overnight Elixir, I didn’t blindly make my next purchases from Human Nature.  I did my usual due diligence, made enquiries (sorry Jeanette, for my constant queries) and when I knew what I want or need, I made my order the next day.

I browsed on Tuesday, purchased on Wednesday and (since everything was in-stock) they arrived on Thursday afternoon, swiftly delivered via Poslaju.

I chose products to specifically address my combination skin issues, and to lessen spots and improve skin radiance.

And here are the winners :

Human Nature Balancing Cleanser

Balancing Facial wash - 200ml 400x400

I was so excited that I cleansed my face using Human Nature Balancing Facial Wash (RM34.90 – 200ml) almost immediately after the postman delivered it. ‘Balancing’ is the range that is made for those with combination-oily skin. I had no make-up on, so I used only a tiny bit of the cleanser. From the outside it looks like greenish gel substance, but I assure you, it’s actually medium-textured, not thick but not too runny either. With the micro-bits of bamboo, this gentle facial wash lightly exfoliates my face.

The combination of eucalyptus fragrance oil and orange essential oil results in a citrusy scent that is truly refreshing.

I had expected some slight cooling sensations because of the presence of the Eucalyptus fragrance oil, but if there were any, it was very slight.

After cleansing (which included a 1 minute massage), my skin did not suffer any feeling of tightness not discomfit.  Psstt….let me tell you a secret : I also sometimes use it as a gentle body scrub, too.

I really love items that can multi-task! 😀

Based on user reviews, I notice that this facial wash works wonders for those who frequently suffer from acne.  Maybe the Elemi Oil is the main contributing factor as I have read that the Elemi Oil extracted from the Elemi tree (Canarium Luzonicum – which only grows naturally in the Philippines), has many wondrous properties as an antiseptic, analgesic, expectorant, stimulant, and tonic substance.

Is it a wonder that my daily facial cleanser now is Human Nature Balancing Facial Wash?
I bought it during sale, and was informed that the shelf life was a bit shorter but it was okay for me because I use it twice daily and it really lasts a long time.

Ingredients (99.85% natural ingredients) :

aqua (water), decyl glucoside (coconut-derived), sodium cocoyl isethionate (coconut-derived), coco-glucoside (coconut-derived), glyceryl oleate (plant-derived), Bambusa arundinacea (bamboo) stem extract, gluconolactone (corn-derived), sodium benzoate, xanthan gum, Luffa cylindrica  (sponge loofah) fruit powder, chromium oxide greens (CI 77288) (natural), Citrus sinensis (orange) peel essential oil, Canarium luzonicum (elemi) gum essential oil

Hydrating Facial Toner

Human Nature range of facial toners

Human Nature range of facial toners

After cleansing, I applied the Hydrating Face Toner (RM23.90 – 100ml). I chose Hydrating Face Toner instead of Balancing Face Toner because of my current skin condition. My skin is combination-oily and is beginning to exhibit signs of ageing such as the dreaded dark spots, fine lines, etc. Hydrating Face Toner is stated to address mature skin conditions.

So that’s what I thought to do – immediately address the aging skin condition.

The Hydrating Face Toner has a watery texture and felt like floral water (with a light sweet scent) when applied on my face (using facial cotton). There was a very slight stickiness but non-oily. I love this toner because it’s alcohol-free and conditions my skin for the next step. I try very hard to avoid skin care products with alcohol because I believe alcohol has a drying effect and therefore contributes towards faster aging of our skin.

Ingredients (100% natural ingredients) :

aqua (water), glycerin, gluconolactone (corn-derived), sodium benzoate, Moringa pterygosperma (malunggay) seed extract, natto gum, hydrolyzed corn starch, Beta vulgaris (beet) root extract, sodium lactate (sugarcane-derived), sodium gluconate (sugarcane-derived), xanthan gum, fragrance

Human Nature All Natural Day Moisturiser

Next comes the nourishing food for my skin – moisturizing using Human Nature All Natural Day Moisturiser (RM36.90 – 50ml).  My face felt soft and dewy even after the first application – which only required less than a pump. And I kept up with the routine each day while continuing with the Elixir at night.

What I noticed the most is that although during the first month of application, I was exposed to the rays of the sun for about half an hour (11.15am – 11.45am) daily, I didn’t suffer any sunburn nor visible darkening of my skin (and I usually forgot to bring my umbrella!).

The sunlight at 11.15am in Sabah is comparable to 12.15pm in the West Malaysia – so hot! I can really see the difference when I compare my face with the darkened areas of my feet.

So, I guess Day Moisturiser also acts as a sunscreen.

Based on the product info at Down To Earth, it’s the extra dose of Vitamin E (nature’s best antioxidant) that works to protect the skin from sun damage and wrinkles.  The All Natural Day Moisturiser contains 15 vitamins and minerals (Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Selenium, Lecithin, Zinc, Potassium, Iron, Calcium, Magnesium), and with BEETROOT EXTRACT to lock in moisture for a full 8 hours.

I definitely love it and that’s why I immediately put the All Natural NIGHT Moisturizer in my wishlist – to be purchased once I’ve finished my Elixir. According to the product info, the Night Moisturiser contains plant collagen (to repair, replenish and nourish your skin) and pure jojoba oil (to calm and sooth our skin) which works wonders while we sleep so that we can wake up with a healthy glow on our face.

Doesn’t that sound wonderful?!!

By the way, the Day Moisturiser also helps to hasten the healing process of skin and lighten scars. I’m one of those who still get minor burns when cooking (oil splatters, etc) and I noticed that if I apply the Day Moisturiser on the affected area within 3 days after the incident, the healing process is cut in half and the scars are barely visible, plus less itchiness.

Ingredients (100% natural ingredients) :

Aqua (water), dicaprylyl ether (vegetable derived), glycerin, Rosa canina (rosehip) oil, glyceryl stearate, stearyl alcohol, hydrolyzed corn starch, Beta vulgaris (beet) root extract, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, olus (vegetable) oil, tapioca starch, xanthan gum, glyceryl caprylate (coconut oil, palm oil and glycerin derived), fragrance (all-natural), tocopherol (vitamin E), anisic acid (anise seed derived).

Those are my daily skin routine. And to ensure that I don’t keep feeding my death skin cells with the amazing ingredients, I also have twice weekly routine of using scrub and/or mask.

Natural Detoxifying Mask + Scrub

Human Nature Natural Detoxifying Mask + Scrub

With the daily assaults of pollutants and the decreasing abilities of the skin to repair itself (as we grow older), Human Nature has just the perfect thing for me – Natural Detoxifying Mask + Scrub, a 2-in-1 product (RM33.90)!

Made with deeply purifying strawberry seeds, bamboo granules, and kaolin clay, plus skin-renewing multifruit extracts to dissolve excess oil, clear pores, and gently polish away dead skin cells for a brighter, healthier complexion – it’s definitely an affordable luxurious spa-in-a-tube beauty treat. I use it as a scrub once on weekday and as a mask (and scrub) on weekend, or when my skin feels like it needs the extra cleansing.

All I need to do is to remember to use it in the evening to avoid any light sensitivity problems – the sunlight can be so harsh sometimes.

And yes, I also use this as a body scrub! ;D

Bamboo, Kaolin clay, Strawberry seeds, Sugarcane juice -100% natural ingredients

aqua (water), stearic acid (vegetable-derived), kaolin, decyl glucoside (coconut-derived), Vaccinium myrtillus (bilberry) fruit extract, Saccharum officinarium (sugar cane) extract, Citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit extract, Citrus limon (lemon) fruit extract, Acer saccharum (sugar maple) extract, cetearyl alcohol (vegetable-derived), Bambusa arundinacea (bamboo) stem extract, Fragaria vesca (strawberry) seed, sodium lactate (sugarcane-derived), sodium gluconate (sugarcane-derived), coco-glucoside (coconut-derived), glyceryl oleate (coconut-derived), gluconic acid (vegetable-derived), xanthan gum, fragrance (all-natural), phytic acid (rice-derived), farnesol, linalool

So far, it has been a very satisfying experience, and I have received many wonderful praises from friends, my kids’ teachers and my kids, too.

Most importantly, I know my skin is receiving good nutrition and treated well daily.

Betul tu Suri, produk natural ni fresh & x blh simpan lama2… kalau lah saya ni jenis yg rajin & kaya-raya, mmg nak jg cuba buat sendiri. Saya tengok matsalleh ada yg gemar buat skin care sendiri tapi bahan mentah tu mahal sbb dorang suka beli yg organik.

Agree with you that it’s an awesome product – and perfect for me, though my skin is not perfect, and is really in need of care. FYI, there are also Human Nature products for men, as well as kids. 😀 Thanks for visiting.
