The Convenience of Low-Cost Housing in Depok

Indonesia 2

I have a few friends who are working in Indonesia and some have met with the love of their life there and decided to raise their family there. From their stories, I learned that housing solutions in Indonesia are never terribly easy to find.

The country is densely populated, making the better real estate options a bit more difficult to come across, and with good reason. This is not to say that there is limited housing available, but in this case we are talking about finding the best housing and the best locations.

These are two items that go hand in hand when you are trying to find a new location in which to live:

quality and location.

A good house is nothing if it is not worth the land it is sitting on, and for this we take a few different factors into account many of which are brought up on Realtor.com:

  • Aesthetics – What does the home look like? Is it clean? Is it modern looking? In other words, does it seem like someplace that you would actually want to live? These are definitely questions that you will want to ask before you commit to move anywhere.
  • Location – If a house looks good, that’s wonderful, but what about the area around the house in question? What does it look like? This includes the neighbor’s yard, the street out front, and several other factors. All of these will not only contribute to your happiness, but also the overall value of the home should you choose to resell at some point.
  • Nearby Amenities – Finally, we get to the point that many people tend to forget about when they are in the market for a new home. A home can look good, the area around it can look great, but if it is not within range of the right amenities, it really is useless. When you look around you should at the very least see the following: Grocery stores, schools, hospitals, clinics, restaurants. Of course, restaurants might be optional for some, but they are still very nice to have on hand.

These are the three major things that you should be looking for when you want to buy a house, and if you are looking for a Rumah, or low-cost housing in Depok, you typically do not have to worry about such things, with good reason.

Low-Cost Housing in Depok

Now, what is in Depok?

What kind of benefits does it have for the aspiring homeowner? Though Expat.com certainly covers many of the rules you’ll need to follow, you probably want to know more about the area itself.

The World of Depok

Firstly, Depok is situated in the West Java province, Indonesia, on the southern border of DKI Jakarta in the Jabodetabek metropolitan region. Visitors to the area will find that while Depok is not the massive business metropolis like other areas in the country, it does feature some very helpful amenities and locations or those who are looking to get away from home.

All of these great examples can be found typically on Margonda Raya street, but you will find that the city is full of amenities and opportunities for both employment and entertainment. Owning a home here is a great idea, but the question still remains of how easy Depok is to get around, so to speak.

Getting Around in Depok

The main means for transportation in Depok is called angkot, or rather, public are transportation. This works for moving around the city, especially if you do not happen to have a car, but getting outside of the city will require different means.

In Depok you will find two train stations, that connect to Jakarta and Bogor, depending on whether you wish to travel North or South. The train stations are Depok and Depok Lama, and there are also two smaller train stations: University of Indonesia and Pondok Cina. For travel outside of the country (or simply locations further out in Indonesia) you can make use of the Pondok Cabe Airport.

Depok Properties

Low cost housing is without a doubt a great investment in the Depok area. Not sure where to start? Don’t worry, there are still plenty of properties available, and getting a good realtor doesn’t have to be difficult. Not only is it easier to shop online, you will have the ability to look at more properties and make better plans.

Let’s face it, having the ability to shop multiple properties online will save you a lot of time, a lot of trouble, and give you a better idea of what the area is all about.

Take a look online and see what you can find. It won’t be long before you’re finally in your Depok home enjoying all that the area has to offer. In a few years, if you want to flip your property, you know who will help you out.
